Woo, surprise surprise, my m7 is going to be my first collaboration! I've been working hard, along with my partner in crime , in order to make a great story for all of you to enjoy. We think its great, but there is something that you need to know as you go into it.
We decided to stray a bit from the main canon of PMDE so as far as actual grading and stuff, this will probably just be NG, but that's ok, I never cared much for the grading anyways. The story is pretty good and I think that's what's really important in the group. I mean its a group to make comics and have fun, and Kai and I decided that the scope of M7 was a bit narrow so decided to have fun with the whole time travel thing! but hehehe, I'll stop talking now and have you be amazed at what is to come.
As far as the actual cover goes...YES ITS BACK TO THE FUTURE, I could not resist, its like one of my favorite movies of all time, and when this presented itself it was too much. Oh man, I'm tired of typing now, so I'll just link you to the amazing cover that Kai did for buddy and Jean.
Lost in time, While it seems as though it may be an overall original Pokemon plotline tie-in, is unfortunately a Back to the future storyline replaced with the use of the typical Pokemon. While this is what the artist is most likely trying to do, it results in a vacuum between creativity and justification of usage. While certain elements are added to increase appeal I feel this falls short of it's potential. The overall vision on this work does incite some form of adventure and thrill but is undertoned by it seeming like a simple parody of the original movie. Perhaps a slightly differing approach could enhance the story one thinks upon seeing this image. Originality thus, takes a large toll on this work. While I am not aware of many Pokemon/Back to the future combinations I am aware of the endless amount of Back to the Future spin-offs. This is but a simple addition to the list. What makes up for this is the rather humerous technique upon which the artist depicts the characters-turned-pokemon. This technical achievement does leave the viewer wanting more, but less for substance more for sustanance. This being said the Impact of this image on the viewer is above par, but they may still be able to leave and not completely comprehend what they saw. Overall this work is above average in degree, It contains Humorous depictions of known characters, and an overused plotline with a new twist. If you enjoy both Pokemon and Back to the Future you will enjoy this art, but it may overall leave you with a sour taste in your mouth should you delve to deep into the layers. Good addition, but it could be better.
